The Sashabaw Middle School Optimist Club is open to both 6th and 7th-grade students. Melissa Harwood is the new SMS club sponsor as of October 2021. Meetings are once per month from October to February. We schedule special activities for other days of the month as well. Our club helps out in the community in many different ways. For example, we go to the Grace Center of Hope Mission Kitchen to help prepare and serve food, and our club often helps out at the Clarkston Family Farm. A few times per school year we sponsor PJ/Hat days at our school to earn money for the charitable causes we select. We love helping our community and look for new things to do each year.
